RESIDENCE PROGRAM
OPEN CALL

The NUMEROVENTI Residence Program is designed to support research and/or material production in contemporary art and design. Rooted in collaboration with local manufacturers and artisans, NUMEROVENTI provides selected residents with a private studio, production support (if applicable) and the opportunity to access local resources for a duration ranging from 1 to 4 weeks.



DURATION

From 1 to 4 weeks depending on the Project Proposal.



RESIDENCY DATES

The Residency dates will start from June 2024.  Exact dates will be agreed with selected artists depending on availability and duration of the residency.


OUTCOME

The outcome will differ from project by project but could include;


– An open studio
– A Work presentation
– A Workshop
– A Lecture / Artist Talk
– An Art Performance
– Photographic documentation
– Graphics and communication on NUMEROVENTI website and socials
– Donation of one of the works to the NUMEROVENTI Collection (if applicable). The donated piece is to be agreed by the Artist and NUMEROVENTI.




PROVIDED BY NUMEROVENTI

– Private accomodation in one of our lofts, with access to a private studio, kitchen and storage facility
– Breakfast on weekdays
– Monthly utilities
– Basic production supplies
– Participation in on-site events and dinners with guests and visitors



PAID BY ARTIST

– Travel
– Artwork return shipping
– Food outside of kitchen hours



PRODUCTION BUDGET

In the case of production residencies, the budget will be agreed upon by NUMEROVENTI and the Artist, based on production needs and the project proposal.

NUMEROVENTI commits to covering production expenses up to €2.000,00.




APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


The application is open to artists, designers, curators, writers and researchers worldwide.

NUMEROVENTI welcomes both emerging and established artists and practitioners that are professionals in their field and who wish to expand their research.

Artists and Designers must have been in at least 1 solo or group exhibition in the last 3 years in a verifiable and recognized public or private museum institution, gallery, cultural center, fair, foundation, or similar.

For artists working in photo and video your work should have been published through recognised industry channels.

Writers, Researchers, Curators will be evaluated on previous projects/publications or similar.

Our open call for music residencies will open at the end of May. 



PROJECT PROPOSAL / RESEARCH STATEMENT


All applicants are required to submit a project proposal or research statement outlining what they intend to work on during their residency period and specify the number of days or weeks required (between 1 and 4.)

NUMEROVENTI has collaborated with a number of local artisans, including: glass studios, carpenters, metal foundries and blacksmiths. Please note this is not an exhaustive list and new collaborations can be activated on the basis of project needs.

For production residencies, applicants should outline:
– A draft of the work/ body of works / series of objects they intend to develop
– Specific production needs (ie. assistance of external craftsmen; specific techniques etc)


APPLICATION GUIDELINES


Application to the NUMEROVENTI Residence Program open call must include:

Personal information: full name, email address, a link to your instagram and/or website

An overview of your practice

Project Proposal / Research Statement: A PDF including text (max 4000 characters). Sketches and images can be included.

Full CV (including exhibitions, publications, previous projects depending on discipline of reference)

Portfolio (in PDF format)
Your portfolio should include a selection of past exhibitions/projects/publications.
If needed to document the work the presentation may include:
Links to video excerpts and links to previous published written works or writing sample.

All sections of the application must be filled out.
