When it comes to his design process, Ali Gallefoss tries to leave aspects of the process out of his control, which the artist feels is both liberating and scary at the same time. ‘Watching the liquid molten metal move over the sand in the mold, like water in a river is encaptivating. I am using my primitive instinct when deciding when to stop to pour the metal and it gives me a strong feeling of freedom. Through these free material explorations, I am trying to challenge myself and hoping to challenge our user habits’
