Bio

Ali Shah Gallefoss has a bachelor’s degree in Furniture and Spatial Design from the Bergen Academy of Fine Art and Design, and a master’s degree from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
When it comes to his design process, trying to leave aspects of the process out of my control, which is both liberating and scary at the same time. Watching the liquid molten metal move over the sand in the mold, like water in a river is encaptivating. I am using my primitive instinct when deciding when to stop to pour the metal and it gives me a strong feeling of freedom. Through these free material explorations, I am trying to challenge myself and hope to challenge our user habits.
